Get a horse to drink before and after travel

Avoid dehydration during travel by getting a horse to drink before transport. On arrival after a trip, unfamiliar surroundings may be unsettling and drinking water is likely to have a different taste and make horses reluctant to drink.

A Lang's intravenous hypertonic saline infusion creates a hypertonic expansion within the blood-an increase in salts in excess of water. This promotes increased water resorption in the kidneys and stimulates the thirst reflex to restore the fluid/salts balance in the blood.

The requirement to maintain plasma osmolality with a relatively narrow range prompts a horse to drink almost immediately after administration of a Lang's Solution and overcomes any reluctance to drink. Freshen-up horses that have been in work for a few months and not performing.

Where performance on the racetrack is well below their best but horses still appear in good health and skin elasticity is normal, several months in work may b e enough to bring on adrenal exhaustion. A side effect of this is reduced adrenal output, which may cause a loss of salts in the urine in excess of fluids.

KelatoLYTE is a balanced formulation used to replace the electrolyte minerals lost in sweat. It is designed to prevent symptoms such as dehydration, fatigue, reduced water intake, muscle weakness, decreased performance and tying up that all occur as a result of electrolyte deficiencies or increased sweating.

WHAT IN IT?

HOW DOES IT WORK?

When used as directed. KelatoLYTE assists in maintaining the body's acid-base balance, fluid balance and circulatory functions. triggering nerve functions and facilitating in muscle contractions. KelatoLYTEprevents poor performance due to sweat loss by replacing the electrolyte minerals lost naturally through sweat. KelatoLYTE does not contain any acidic or basic compounds that have the potential to adversely affect your horse's acid-base balance and is therefore suitable for feeding to all horses under any discipline, whether aerobic or anaerobic conditions. This product does not contain any substances that conflict with the rules of racing and is apple flavoured to ensure satisfaction.

HOW IT IS USED?

Feed 30g per day if the horse is simply sweating lightly. This should be increased to 60g for moderate sweating or 90g for heavy sweating. Spelling horses in hot environments also require 30g per day. For better absorption, the daily dose of KelatoLYTE should be split into two feeds. Always ensure a supply of clean, fresh water is available when using this product. Do not add KelatoLYTE to your horse's water. For use as an isotonic drench, mix 60g of KelatoLYTE in 5 litres of water. Always consult with your veterinarian before using an electrolyte drench. Electrolyte paste can also be formed by mixing 30g ofKelatoLYTE with water or apple sauce. Electrolyte paste should not be used on dehydrated horses or those resuing to drink.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Pulmonary haemorrhage or "bleeding" experienced by equine athletes following demanding physical exertion is a problem that has plagued the business of racing horses since its inception. It is primarily due to the escape of blood cells into the lungs from the capllaries where the exchange of gas occurs.
PulmonAID contains Lecithin (a source of inositol, choline and B vitamins), vitamin A, chlorophyll & calcium which help to maintain cell membranes and strengthen the walls of body cells and capillaries in animals. They also play a role in the correct functioning of mucous membranes.


HOW IS IT USED?
After a horse has suffered a bleeding attack, spell it in the paddock for at least 8 - 10 weeks (at least 12 weeks after a severe bleed).
The very first day the horse comes back into the stable after spelling, commence feeding 60g (2 level scoops) per 450kg bodyweight per day of PulmonAID.
For the first 5 weeks of feeding PulmonAID the horse should not be subject to strenuous exercise.
This allows the important nutrients in PulmonAID (Lecithin, Chlorophyll, Vitamins A, E & D3, Calcium etc.) time to build up to sufficient levels to aid lung capillary wall strength.
Four days prior to each race or trial, increase the dossage to 120 grams per 450kg bodyweight per day (4 level scoops).
Where possible reduce the amount of dust in the stable and in the feed.
Avoid swimming known bleeders.
Make sure the horse is well warmed-up prior to hard work.
When used in this manner, results have shown over an 80% successrate at helping to prevent a rebleed.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS
TRIDENOSEN is a potent dilator of the small arteries of the muscles of the body and heart. Adenosine. Nicotinic acid and DADA all dilate blood vessels that supply muscles. The reduction in vascular resistance produced by these agents leads to an increase in ease of blood flow, oxygen supply, and muscle perfusion. This increased blood flow leads to increased CO2 and lactic acid removal, reducing fatigue and muscle damage during maximal work periods. Experimental studies show that the blood supply to heart muscle is increased by more that 100% by infusion with adenosine compounds, and to skeletal muscle by 92%.

Magnesium and potassium aspartates are used in the treatment of fatigue and exhaustion in humans, and of the sodium / potassium imbalance which accompanies these fatigue states. Selenium and potassium aspartates are potent anti-oxidants, and help to limit muscle damage or azoturia incurred as a indicating that less muscle cell damage has been incurred.

TRIDENOSEN should be used to prevent cramping and Tying up (Rhabdomyolysis or azoturia). It can be successfully used to counter fatigue states, and as an aid to recovery after hard work.

HOW IS IT USED?

Give 10 - 15mL TRIPART Paste or 15 - 20mL TRIPART INJECTION 48 hours, 24 hours, and again 4 - 6 hours before strenuous exercise. TRIPART can be administered as either an oral paste, or sterile injection for intramuscular or intravenous administration.

DOSAGE
