DIUREX

DIUREX
DIURETIC FOR HORSES

WHAT IS IT?
Ammonium Chloride causes a transient diuresis. When administered before exercise, diuresis results in a reduction in blood volume which may help reduce the incidence of exercise-induced pulmonary haemhorrage (EIPH).

WHAT'S IN IT?
Ammonium Chloride 5.4mg/mL

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Reduction in blood volume results in a reduction in the exercise induced rise in pulmonary arterial pressure, pulmonary arterial wedge pressure and capilary pressure. Elevated pulmonary pressures are implicated in causing EIPH, thus reducing pulmonary pressure may help reduce the incidence of EIPH.

HOW IS IT USED?
Horses: Give 50mL by slow intravenous injection 4 - 5 hours before strenuous exercise.

PACK SIZES & PRESENTATION
50mL sterile glass bottle.

HOW IS IT STORED?
Store below 25 celcius (air conditioning). Protect from light.

CAN IT BE USED WITH ANYTHING ELSE?
DIUREX may be used with any Nature Vet Product.
